Int’l students eligible.  Academia Sinica (AS), a prominent national research institution in Taiwan, offers opportunities for around 600 postdoctoral fellows each year.  In the fields of mathematics and physical sciences, life sciences, humanities and social sciences.

 

Aetna/Disparities Solutions Center Health Care Disparities Fellowship

Int’l students eligible, The Aetna/DSC HealthCare Fellowship program enables outstanding medical students to develop new leadership skills in health care by equipping them with the tools and skills necessary to work towards the elimination of racial/ethnic disparities. Aetna/DSC Disparities Fellows get to learn from a dynamic, multi-disciplinary staff at the DSC with expertise in racial/ethnic data collection, performance measurement and reporting, disparities interventions, evaluation, and cultural competence.

AIF - The William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service in India

Only for US citizens/permanent residents/Indian citizens.  The Fellowship selects highly skilled young professionals and pairs them with leading NGOs and social enterprises for 10 months of fieldwork in India in order to accelerate impact and create effective projects that are replicable, scalable, and sustainable.

Alliance for Health Reform Internship

Int’l students eligible.  The Alliance for Health Reform hires interns focused on health policy research and media relations. Interns at the Alliance engage in media outreach and educational efforts in the D.C .area

American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)- Funding Opportunities

Int’l students eligible; The AACR awards research fellow grants to doctoral students engaged in high quality cancer research.

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS): Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows Program

Int’l students eligible. This 10-week summer program is designed for science, engineering and mathematics students at national media organizations, intended to help train scientists to better communicate their complex research to the public.

 

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS): Science & Technology Policy Fellowships

Int’l students NOT eligible. These fellowships, intended to simultaneously advance the sciences and society,  are available for individuals with PhDs in the social and behavioral sciences, medical and health sciences, physical sciences, computational sciences and engineering.

American Association of University (AAUW): Fellowships and Grants

Int’l students NOT eligible; The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is one of the world’s largest sources of funding for women graduate students.  AAUW is provides funding for several hundred fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations.

American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. Provides several fellowships for scholars of oriental research in the humanities, social sciences and physical sciences.

American Educational Research Association (AERA): Funding Opportunities

Int’l students eligible; The American Educational Research Association (AERA) small research grants and training for graduate students who conduct studies of education policy and practice using quantitative methods and including the analysis of data from the large-scale data sets sponsored by National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and NSF.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: Research Grants

Int’l students eligible. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention offers research grants to graduate students that can demonstrate that their research will lead to larger investigations into how to prevent suicide.

American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC): Graduate Fellowships

Only for American Indigenous people. The AIGC Cobell Graduate Scholarships are awards made to American Indian and Alaskan Native graduate or professional full-time degree-seeking students.

 

American Institute of Indian Studies - Grants and fellowships

Int’l students eligible. The AIIS offers junior fellowships to graduate students that are conducting their doctoral dissertation research in India.

American Medical Association Government Relations Advocacy Fellowship

Int’l students eligible; The AMA-MSS Government Relations Advocacy Fellowship (GRAF) for medical students selects one fellow is selected each spring to work in Washington  D.C.  as a full-time paid member of the AMA's Federal advocacy team for one year.

American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education (APIRE)- Psychiatry Research Fellowships

Int’l students eligible; The American Psychiatric Institute of Research and Education (APIRE) sponsors training of minority medical students, psychiatric residents, and fellows who are interested in research by providing advice, placement assistance, tuition, stipends, travel and other expenses.

American Psychological Association (APA) - Predoctoral Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Application Instructions

Int’l students eligible; The Predoctoral MHSAS fellowship supports the training of practitioners in behavioral health services and prevention. This fellowship program is designed for graduate students in clinical, counseling and school psychology, and other psychology doctoral students whose training prepares them for careers in behavioral health services. Int’l students eligible. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation offers a variety of funding opportunities for graduate students pursuing degrees in these relevant areas.

Only for Americans and Scandinavians; The ASF's award program for study and research abroad awards fellowships and grants to graduate students in study or research projects with a Scandinavian focus.

amfAR Rosenfield Fellowship

Int’l students eligible. The Allan Rosenfield Internship and Fellowship Program at amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, offers fellowships to graduate students who aspire to become leaders in public health and in the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

 

AMSA-VITAS End of Life Education Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible; The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) Foundation offers the AMSA—Vitas End-of-Life Education Fellowship program as a six-week intensive summer experience for medical students to better grapple with and learn about end of life (EOL) care issues.

ASPPH Public Health Policy Fellowship Program

Int’l students NOT eligible.
The ASPH Public Health Policy Fellowship enables either master’s students in MPH or doctoral students to gain hands-on health policy experience with congressional and executive offices in Washington, DC. 

 

ASPPH/CDC Allan Rosenfield Global Health Fellowship Program

Int’l students NOT eligible. The Allan Rosenfield Global Health Fellowship Program award fellowships to public health graduate students at the MPH level or the doctoral level, providing international training opportunities for recent graduates of ASPPH member CEPH accredited schools and programs of public health.

 

ASPPH/CDC Public Health Fellowship Program

Int’l students NOT eligible. The ASPPH/CDC Public Health Fellowship for graduate students in public health seeks to address emerging needs of public health, and to provide leadership and professional opportunities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for graduate students of ASPPH member graduate schools and programs of public health. The fellowships are from one to two years in duration, depending on the needs of CDC and the fellow.

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service): Scholarships and Fellowships

Int’l students eligible; The German Academic Exchange Service offers scholarships  research grants  and fellowships to graduate –level students and doctoral students in the humanities  social sciences and physical science who would like to conduct research in Germany.

Dan David Prize

Int’l students eligible. The Dan David Prize awards scholarships to both Doctoral Students and Post-Doctoral researchers conducting research in one of the selected fields of study for the year.

 

Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Transportation Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. The Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP) awards fellowships to graduate students pursuing degrees in transportation-related disciplines.

 

Embassy of France in the United States: Chateaubriand Fellowship

Int’l students eligible.  The Chateaubriand Fellowship is offered by the Embassy of France in the United States and awarded to doctorate students enrolled in American universities who would like to conduct research in France for up to 10 months.

 

Five College Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible. Five College Fellowships offer year-long residencies for doctoral students in the fields of the Humanities, the Fine Arts or the Social Sciences who are in the midst of completing dissertations. The program  is intended to support scholars from “under-represented groups and/or scholars with unique interests and histories whose engagement in the Academy will enrich scholarship and teaching.”

 

Fulbright U.S. Students Program

Int’l students eligible; The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduate students to study abroad for one academic year.

Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program

Int’l students NOT eligible. This program provides research grants to colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students in the fields of foreign languages and area studies who conduct research in other countries.

Hagley Museum & Library- Research Grants and Fellowships

Int’l students eligible; The Hagley Museum and Library offers the Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowships to doctoral students who have completed all course work for the doctoral degree and are conducting research on their dissertation and whose research on important historical questions would benefit from use of Hagley's research collections.

Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowships are four-month residential fellowships designed for Ph.D. candidates who have completed all course work for the doctoral degree and are currently conducting research on their dissertation.  Applications are accepted from Ph.D. candidates whose research on important historical questions would benefit from use of Hagley museum’s ( a Smithsonian affiliate) research collections. 

 

Henry Luce Foundation Programs

Int’l students NOT eligible. The Luce Scholars Program is a fellowship program. It designed to enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society. The program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Asia for 15-18 Luce Scholars each year, and invites applications from both college seniors and graduate students from variety of fields who have had limited exposure to Asia. 

Candidates must be U.S. citizens who, by July 1 of the year they enter the program, will have received at least a bachelor’s degree and will not have reached their 30th birthday.

 

Korean American Scholarship Foundation- Scholarships

Only Korean-Americans can apply; The Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) awards scholarships Korean-American graduate students. The criteria for eligibility is broad, as the KASF looks to “assist Korean American students in pursuit of academic and personal achievement, encourage community and civic service as an integral part of leadership development, and nurture the sense of pride and confidence in Korean cultural heritage and tradition.”

Kosciuszko Foundation: Fellowships and Grants for Polish Citizens

Int’l students NOT eligible. The Kosciuszko Foundation annually awards a number of Fellowships/Grants to Polish citizens for advanced study, research, and/or teaching at universities and other institutions of higher learning in the United States.  Applicants must have completed their Ph.D.

 

Kosciuszko Foundation: Tuition Scholarship Program for Americans

Int’l students NOT eligible. Kosciuszko Foundation Tuition Scholarships provide funding opportunities to American students of Polish descent for graduate studies in any field at colleges and universities in the United States. 

 

Lady Davis Fellowship Trust: Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. The Lady Day Fellowship Trust offers fellowships to student abroad conducting either graduate studies and or post-doctoral work.

Lemelson Center Fellows Program

Int’l students eligible. The Lemelson Center Fellows Program offers fellowships to pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars engaged in creative research into the study of invention and innovation.

Markowski-Leach Scholarships

Int’l students eligible; The Markowski-Leach Scholarship awards LGBTQ graduate students who plan to attend San Francisco State University  Stanford University  or University of California Berkeley* during the academic year of the award.

Medical Library Association (MLA)- Thomson Reuters/MLA Doctoral Fellowship

Int’l students NOT eligible; Thomson Reuters awards fellowships to doctoral students conducting work in an area of health sciences librarianship or information sciences.

National Academies: Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. The Fellowships Office (FO) of the National Academies offers fellowships to pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars. These fellowships are designed with the intention of promoting the career development of the researchers and scholars for the academic, federal, industrial and international workforce. These fellowships are made possible on behalf of government and private/foundation sponsors.

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)- Training  Fellowship  and Health Disparities Programs

Int’l students eligible; The AIDS Research Training Program supports research training for students at the predoctoral level doing research in the basic neuroscience of HIV infections  as well as the behavioral science research agenda.

National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Scholarship Program

Int’l students NOT eligible; The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) annually awards scholarships to outstanding graduate students who are either Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievement or students from any ethnic background majoring or minoring in Italian language, Italian studies, Italian American studies or a related field, who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements.

National Science Foundation (NSF): Graduate Research Fellowship Program

Organization of American States: OAS Academic Scholarship Program

Int’l students eligible.  The OAS Academic Scholarship Program awards scholarships every year to support the pursuit of Master’s Degrees, Doctoral Degrees and Graduate Research leading to a university degree. Scholarships are available only to citizens and residents of the English-speaking Caribbean OAS Member States, and Suriname.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible; The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi currently awards fifty-one Fellowships to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study.

Women Health Care Executives- Lynn Adamson Memorial Scholarship
