Academia Sinica-Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Int’l students eligible.  Academia Sinica (AS), a prominent national research institution in Taiwan, offers opportunities for around 600 postdoctoral fellows each year.  In the fields of mathematics and physical sciences, life sciences, humanities and social sciences.

 

AFCEA - Scholarships

Int’l students eligible. AFCEA offers several different scholarships to graduate students who have a background in or are pursuing careers as engineers, technicians, programmers, military personnel and government officials.   

AIF - The William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service in India

Only for US citizens/permanent residents/Indian citizens.  The Fellowship selects highly skilled young professionals and pairs them with leading NGOs and social enterprises for 10 months of fieldwork in India in order to accelerate impact and create effective projects that are replicable, scalable, and sustainable.

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS): Science & Technology Policy Fellowships

Int’l students NOT eligible. These fellowships, intended to simultaneously advance the sciences and society,  are available for individuals with PhDs in the social and behavioral sciences, medical and health sciences, physical sciences, computational sciences and engineering.

American Association of University (AAUW): Fellowships and Grants

Int’l students NOT eligible; The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is one of the world’s largest sources of funding for women graduate students.  AAUW is provides funding for several hundred fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations.

American Educational Research Association (AERA): Funding Opportunities

Int’l students eligible; The American Educational Research Association (AERA) small research grants and training for graduate students who conduct studies of education policy and practice using quantitative methods and including the analysis of data from the large-scale data sets sponsored by National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and NSF.

American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC): Graduate Fellowships

Only for American Indigenous people. The AIGC Cobell Graduate Scholarships are awards made to American Indian and Alaskan Native graduate or professional full-time degree-seeking students.

 

American Institute of Indian Studies - Grants and fellowships

Int’l students eligible. The AIIS offers junior fellowships to graduate students that are conducting their doctoral dissertation research in India.

American Library Association Scholarships

Int’l students eligible; The ALA Awards Program annually awards fellowships and grants to outstanding graduate students in the library sciences.

American-Scandinavian Foundation Grants  Fellowships and Awards

Only for Americans and Scandinavians; The ASF's award program for study and research abroad awards fellowships and grants to graduate students in study or research projects with a Scandinavian focus.

Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA)- ALA Century Scholarship

Int’l students NOT eligible; The ASCLA Century Scholarship funds services or accommodations for library school student(s) with disabilities admitted to an ALA-accredited library school. The scholarship will fund services or accommodations that are either not provided by law or otherwise by the university that will enable the student or students to successfully complete the course of study for a Master’s in Library Science and become a library or information studies professional.

AT&T Labs Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible; AT&T Labs - Research offers summer internships to graduate students with an interest and experience on working on research problems in the fields of Computing and Communications Foundations, Networking and Software Systems, and Information and Intelligent Systems.

Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR)- Awards and Fellowships

Int’l students eligible; The Council on Library and Information Resources awards several scholarships and fellowships to graduate students in the library and information sciences.

Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR)- Mellon Fellowships for Dissertation Research in Original Sources

Int’l students eligible. The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) fellowships  - funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation – to outstanding doctoral candidates conducting dissertation research in the humanities or related social sciences in original sources

 

Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR)- Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible; The CLIR Postdoctoral Fellowship awards recent Ph.D. graduates  enabling them to work on projects that create and strengthen connections among library collections  educational technologies  and current research.

Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR)- Rovelstad Scholarship in International Librarianship

Int’l students NOT eligible; The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) awards a scholarship to a graduate student in the library and information science to attend the World Library and Information Congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service): Scholarships and Fellowships

Int’l students eligible; The German Academic Exchange Service offers scholarships  research grants  and fellowships to graduate –level students and doctoral students in the humanities  social sciences and physical science who would like to conduct research in Germany.

Dan David Prize

Int’l students eligible. The Dan David Prize awards scholarships to both Doctoral Students and Post-Doctoral researchers conducting research in one of the selected fields of study for the year.

 

Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF)

Int’l students NOT eligible; The Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) program awards graduate students who are using high performance computing to better understand fundamental properties of the world and universe around us, and to solve complex problems in areas of national importance, such as climate change and sustainable energy sources.

Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Transportation Fellowships

I Int’l students eligible.  The Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP) awards fellowships to graduate students pursuing degrees in transportation-related disciplines.

 

Embassy of France in the United States: Chateaubriand Fellowship

Int’l students eligible.  The Chateaubriand Fellowship is offered by the Embassy of France in the United States and awarded to doctorate students enrolled in American universities who would like to conduct research in France for up to 10 months.

Five College Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible. Five College Fellowships offer year-long residencies for doctoral students in the fields of the Humanities, the Fine Arts or the Social Sciences who are in the midst of completing dissertations. The program  is intended to support scholars from “under-represented groups and/or scholars with unique interests and histories whose engagement in the Academy will enrich scholarship and teaching.”

 

Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs

Int’l students NOT eligible; Ford Foundation Fellowship awards are offered at the Pre-doctoral, Dissertation and Postdoctoral levels. Awards are made to individuals “who, in the judgment of the review panels, have demonstrated superior academic achievement, are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level, show promise of future achievement as scholars and teachers, and are well prepared to use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.”

Fulbright U.S. Students Program

Int’l students eligible; The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduate students to study abroad for one academic year.

Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program

Int’l students NOT eligible. This program provides research grants to colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students in the fields of foreign languages and area studies who conduct research in other countries.

GEM Fellowships

Int’l students NOT eligible; GEM's awards fellowships to engineering students at the MS and Ph.D. levels coupled with paid summer internships.

Google US/Canada PhD Fellowship Program

Yes; The Google U.S./Canada PhD Student Fellowship Program awards outstanding graduate students doing exceptional work in computer science  related disciplines  or promising research areas.

Hagley Museum & Library- Research Grants and Fellowships

Int’l students eligible; The Hagley Museum and Library offers the Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowships to doctoral students who have completed all course work for the doctoral degree and are conducting research on their dissertation and whose research on important historical questions would benefit from use of Hagley's research collections.

Hartford Doctoral Fellows Program in Geriatric Social Work

Int’l students NOT eligible; The Hartford Doctoral Fellows Program awards fellowships to doctoral students doing research in the field of Geriatric Social Work. The program, a component of the nationwide Geriatric Social Work Initiative, provides substantial financial support and professional development enhancements, prepares you for a tenure track faculty position at a major university, and provides the opportunity to become a leader in an elite network of scholars.

Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowships are four-month residential fellowships designed for Ph.D. candidates who have completed all course work for the doctoral degree and are currently conducting research on their dissertation.  Applications are accepted from Ph.D. candidates whose research on important historical questions would benefit from use of Hagley museum’s ( a Smithsonian affiliate) research collections. 

 

Hispanic Scholarship Fund- Scholarships for College / Graduate Students

Int’l students NOT eligible. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to graduate students who are Hispanic-background US citizens, permanent residents, DACA or eligible non-residents

IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program

Int’l students eligible. The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program offers fellowships to outstanding Ph.D. students who have an interest in solving problems that are deemed important to IBM and in a broader sense fundamental to innovation in many academic disciplines and areas of study. These include: computer science and engineering (including cyber security, cloud, and mobile computing), electrical and mechanical engineering, physical sciences (including chemistry, material sciences, and physics), mathematical sciences (including analytics of massive scale data with uncertainty, operations research, and optimization), public sector and business sciences (including urban policy and analytics, social technologies, learning systems and Cognitive Computing), and Service Science, Management, and Engineering (SSME).

 

Interservice / Industry Training Systems and Education Conference (I/ITSEC): Scholarships

Int’l students eligible. I/ITSEC offers graduate students at the masters and doctoral level scholarship opportunities for students interested in leadership in modeling and simulation. Awards are being offered at a Masters level in the amount $5,000, and at a Doctoral level in the amount of $10,000. 

 

International Library & Information Studies Honor Society- Scholarships  Fellowships  & Awards

Int’l students eligible; Beta Phi Mu Scholarships are offered to doctoral students in the library and information sciences.

Korean American Scholarship Foundation- Scholarships

Only Korean-Americans can apply; The Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) awards scholarships Korean-American graduate students. The criteria for eligibility is broad, as the KASF looks to “assist Korean American students in pursuit of academic and personal achievement, encourage community and civic service as an integral part of leadership development, and nurture the sense of pride and confidence in Korean cultural heritage and tradition.”

Kosciuszko Foundation: Fellowships and Grants for Polish Citizens

Int’l students NOT eligible. The Kosciuszko Foundation annually awards a number of Fellowships/Grants to Polish citizens for advanced study, research, and/or teaching at universities and other institutions of higher learning in the United States.  Applicants must have completed their Ph.D.

 

Kosciuszko Foundation: Tuition Scholarship Program for Americans

Int’l students NOT eligible. Kosciuszko Foundation Tuition Scholarships provide funding opportunities to American students of Polish descent for graduate studies in any field at colleges and universities in the United States. 

 

Lady Davis Fellowship Trust: Fellowships

Int’l students eligible. The Lady Day Fellowship Trust offers fellowships to student abroad conducting either graduate studies and or post-doctoral work.

Lemelson Center Fellows Program

Int’l students eligible. The Lemelson Center Fellows Program offers fellowships to pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars engaged in creative research into the study of invention and innovation.

Library and Information Technology Association- LITA Scholarships & Awards

Int’l students eligible; The Library and Information Technology Association awards scholarships to students that are pursuing MLS degrees. Two of these scholarships are exclusively warded to minority students pursuing MLS degrees.

Markowski-Leach Scholarships

Int’l students eligible; The Markowski-Leach Scholarship awards LGBTQ graduate students who plan to attend San Francisco State University  Stanford University  or University of California Berkeley* during the academic year of the award.

Medical Library Association (MLA)- Grants and Scholarships

Int’l students eligible; The Medical Library Association (MLA) awards a variety of scholarships and grants to graduate students in library science programs.

Medical Library Association (MLA)- Thomson Reuters/MLA Doctoral Fellowship

Int’l students NOT eligible; Thomson Reuters awards fellowships to doctoral students conducting work in an area of health sciences librarianship or information sciences.

National Academies: Fellowships

Int’l students eligible.  Int’l students eligible. The Fellowships Office (FO) of the National Academies offers fellowships to pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars. These fellowships are designed with the intention of promoting the career development of the researchers and scholars for the academic, federal, industrial and international workforce. These fellowships are made possible on behalf of government and private/foundation sponsors.

National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Scholarship Program

Int’l students NOT eligible; The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) annually awards scholarships to outstanding graduate students who are either Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievement or students from any ethnic background majoring or minoring in Italian language, Italian studies, Italian American studies or a related field, who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements.

National Science Foundation (NSF): Graduate Research Fellowship Program

Organization of American States: OAS Academic Scholarship Program

Int’l students eligible.  The OAS Academic Scholarship Program awards scholarships every year to support the pursuit of Master’s Degrees, Doctoral Degrees and Graduate Research leading to a university degree. Scholarships are available only to citizens and residents of the English-speaking Caribbean OAS Member States, and Suriname.

Int’l students eligible. The Smithsonian Institute offers a variety of fellowship opportunities to graduate students, doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars.

Symantec Research Labs Graduate Fellowship

Int’l students eligible; Symantec Research Labs (SRL) awards Graduate Fellowships to outstanding Ph.D. students in the engineering field who conduct research that exhibits real-world value  in areas where Symantec conducts business such as storage  backup  virtualization.

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship Program

Int’l students eligible; The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi currently awards fifty-one Fellowships to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study.

Winston Churchill Foundation: Churchill Scholarship

The Winston Churchill Foundation offers scholarships to outstanding graduate students who demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of knowledge in the sciences, engineering and mathematics by contributing original and creative work.
