Lauren Shalek

Manager of Administration and Special Projects

As Manager of Administration and Special Projects, Lauren Shalek oversees the daily functions of the administrative team in the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research and manages a portfolio of cross-functional projects including both departmental and university-wide programs and events.

Prior to working at Pitt, she worked in the nonprofit sector leading programs and operations across a variety of fields including animal welfare, disability services and STEM education. In her most recent positions at Moonshot Museum and STEM Coding Lab, both start-up organizations, she played a key role in developing new teams and establishing operations from the ground up.

Lauren received her BA in psychology with a minor in art from Bowling Green State University and her MA in industrial/organizational psychology from East Carolina University.
