Research at the University of Pittsburgh enriches the education of Pitt students, fuels the region’s economy, creates knowledge and impacts society. The Research, Ethics and Society Initiative (RESI) was launched to help ensure that Pitt’s scholars and researchers pursue their work with awareness of its implications for society, the world and future generations.

Research Ethics Consultation Service

The Research Ethics Consultation Service (RECS) provides support to researchers in all domains including the humanities, social sciences, health sciences, engineering, computing and information science, and basic and applied sciences.

Research Ethics Advisory Board

The Research Ethics Advisory Board acts in the belief that thoughtful discussion of ethical issues and policy is itself a valuable function of an institution of higher learning.
